About the Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique, developed by F. M. Alexander (1869-1955), is a practical method of becoming aware of how you use your body throughout the day.  Because you have been using your body in a particular way for so long, you have become accustomed to your habits—habits that create excessive tension and compression and interfere with the body’s natural poise and balance.   Such habits can bring on conditions of ill health, and they can also impede your performance level in any activity.   Learning the Alexander Technique is an effective way of recognizing and changing these habits so that you can use your body efficiently and effortlessly.
